Flying Lotus

Flying Lotus is a Grammy Award-winning, trailblazing figure in electronic music and founder of the record label Brainfeeder. His innovative style, emerging in the mid-2000s, defies genre boundaries, blending elements of electronic, hip-hop, jazz, and experimental music. Flying Lotus crafts intricate compositions with complex rhythms and a penchant for unconventional sounds and samples. His acclaimed discography includes albums like "1983," "Cosmogramma," and "You're Dead!" Collaborating with artists ranging from Kendrick Lamar, David Lynch, to Thom Yorke, he's left an indelible mark on the music landscape. Beyond music, Flying Lotus ventures into visual arts and filmmaking, infusing his unique style into live performances and videos. His boundary-pushing approach and sonic innovation solidify him as a pioneering force in contemporary music.

Dominique Eade

Dominique Eade, a celebrated American vocalist and composer, melds musical virtuosity with raw emotion. Praised by The New York Times for her exceptional range, she's performed globally, from Buenos Aires Jazz Festival to The Blue Note. With seven acclaimed albums and collaborations with jazz luminaries, Eade leaves an indelible mark on the music world. Eade has garnered accolades from Billboard, NPR, Entertainment Weekly, and more. As an esteemed educator, she's shaped a new generation of talents at the New England Conservatory.

Sakaki Mango

Born in Kagoshima, Japan in 1974, Sakaki Mango studied Kiswahili at the Osaka University of Foreign Studies, where he also began his research on Tanzanian music. He traveled the African continent to receive direct training from lamellophone masters Hukwe Zawose (Tanzanian limba), Garikayi Tirikot (Zimbabwean mbira). In addition, he also learns a wide range of thumb pianos such as the Ugandan lukeme, Congolese electric likembe etc. After many books related to the lamellophones and several works for the BBC (UK) or RFI (France), he is recognized as one of the specialists in this field. He amplifies those traditional handmade instruments by himself and plays it via pedal effects, sampler and loopers, while singing in his mother language, the dialect from Kagoshima. As a composer and performer, he has released many albums and recordings, in band configuration (“Limba Train Sound System”) and in solo format, many of them selected in best album rankings in Japan. He has recently also started to use a rare three strings zither from Southern Japan called “gottan”.

Fernando Vigueras

Musician specialized in experimental sound practices and creative forms related to free improvisation, listening practices, new music and sound art. His work questions the objectual nature of the instruments, recreating different concrete forms of sound production. Master Degree in Interpretation in the Postgraduate Music Program of the UNAM and as an instrumentalist in guitar from the Facultad de Música / UNAM. He also completed a degree in Jazz studies at Escuela Superior de Música / INBA. He collaborates in several projects with Carmina Escobar, Ute Wassermann, Ricardo Castillo, Gabriela Gordillo, Dora Juárez Kiczkovsky, Jaap Blonk among others. Member of the Mexican improvisation collective Generación Espontánea and the unit Cuatro Minimal. His work has been presented all around the world, in Spain, Japan, Korea, Austria, Malaysia, Argentina etc.

Juan Pablo Villa

Singer and multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, music producer. Working on a wide range of musical styles, from traditional music of Mexico to experimental music and extended vocal techniques he has been multi-awarded as composer for the movie “Radical” (2023) directed by Christopher Zalla, “Victoria” (2020) directed by Eloisa Diez, “Hambre”(2021) by Carlos Meléndez and much more. He also intensively works with composers, directors and producers such as Urdimbre Audiovisual, Jaques Arnaud, Carlos Cuarón, Josué Vergara, among others. As a music performer he performs all around the world, participating to international projects from World Music field, experimental and avantgarde festivals. He is member of the international quartet Cuatro Minimal since 2011. Selected for the Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte from the Mexican Government 2023-2025.

Chang Jaehyo

Chang Jae-hyo is a Korean traditional percussionist and vocalist. Graduated in Pansori, he starts his career as a member of Puri, unit which has revolutionized the traditional music field in Korea in the 90’s, first project to create bridges with theater, visual arts, contemporary dance etc. He creates “Sonagi Project” in 2007, a minimal group performing minimal and avantgarde performances only with traditional drums.
Recognized as one of the most influent percussionist of his generation, he collaborates with all the artists if the contemporary music scene in Korea, connecting the Samulnori and Pansori to electronic music, soundscapes, dance and theatral expression. He also took part to many big scale events (Olympic Games, Football World Cup etc). Artistic director of the Korean Traditional Music Orchestra for the Blind(KTMOB) since 2022, director of the Seoul Drum Festival 2023.

Helena Sorokina

Latvian contralto/mezzo-soprano Helēna Sorokina began her musical education with the violin and piano already at the age of 5. She later went on to study choral conducting in her hometown Riga. Helena was studying classical vocal performance and vocal pedagogy and since 2021 continues with the Artistic Research at the prestigious Doctorate School at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria. In 2020 Sorokina started a new project for an unaccompanied solo voice called VOICE.ONLY, which she premiered at CNMAT in Berkeley, California, and further developed into a new concert series in Styria, Austria. One of the parts called Shades of Solitude has been dedicated to the exploration of different possibilities of a solo alto voice a cappella.
