"Trio Through the Looking-Glass" is inspired by the highly-nuanced chamber jazz trio of Jimmy Giuffre, Bob Brookmeyer and Jim Hall.
Brian Walsh (woodwinds) frequently performs with such diverse groups as Wild up Modern Music Collective, The New Century Players, The California E.A.R. Unit and is a member of Creative Underground Los Angeles. He also leads Walsh Set Trio, a jazz ensemble focusing on the performance of his own compositions. Performances have taken Walsh to Japan, Canada, Italy, England, the Netherlands, Iceland, and all over the United States. https://www.brianwalshclarinet.org/home
Derek Stein (cello) is a Los Angeles–based cellist/electric bassist who regularly tours the United States and overseas, performing with several of LA’s new-music groups, including the acclaimed Wild Up Collective. Michael Jon Fink (guitar and Bass VI) has been a composer/improviser with experimental and new music groups that have included the Negative Band, Stillife, Ghost Duo and Trio Ampliphonic; and currently plays electric guitar with the Feedback Wave Riders and Trio Through the Looking-Glass. M.J.F. has taught composition, orchestration and analysis at CalArts for 40+ years.
