Weston Olencki is a trombonist/composer working at the boundary of sound art, composition, and electronic noise, testing the emerging artistic and social relationships between humans and machines through intense, sustained personal collaborations. He has presented work at the Borealis Festival [Bergen], ISSUE Project Room [NYC], Transparent Sound [Budapest], REDCAT [LA], Weisslich [Manchester/London], Qubit [NYC], Constellation's Frequency Series [Chicago], FOCIarts [New Orleans], Indexical [Santa Cruz], and OPTION [Chicago], and was awarded the Kranichsteiner Musikpreis for performance from the Darmstadt Ferienkurse. He also co-curates/presents the Chance and Circumstance festival, an annual festival for experimental arts in NYC.
