School of Music Visiting Artist Series
Michelle Lou is active as a performer and a composer, but not always at the same time. She plays guitar, bass, and electronics and prefers close collaboration with friends and colleagues over extended time periods. Her music has been performed in festivals such as Wien Modern, MATA, Noon Till Midnight, The Festival for American Music, Donaueschinger Musiktage, and Bludenz. Michelle received her BA and MA degrees from UC San Diego in double bass performance and composition, and her DMA from Stanford University. She spent an academic year at Harvard as a Radcliffe Fellow. She is currently a Visiting Lecturer at Dartmouth College.
