Music: David Locke will be teaching Career Design Ghanaian with Nani Agbeli and Andrew Grueschow
David Locke is the founder of the Agbekor Drum & Dance Society and a Professor of Ethnomusicology and Music Performance at Tufts University in Medford, MA. He fell in love with the music of Ghana while an undergrad at Wesleyan University in the 1970’s. As his expertise grew, he sought out other drummers and dancers who were willing to commit to learning and performing Ghanaian drumming and dance authentically, as it is done in Ghana. Locke is also an author and wrote Drum Gahu: An Introduction to African Rhythm.
