21st Century Raga Concert - Saturday, the 18th of April in the ROD at 8:00PM with special guests Ustad Aashish Khan and Curtis Bahn.
The Music Technology: Interaction, Intelligence & Design Program allows undergraduates to build strong musical skills while mastering a variety of music-related technologies in the context of pursuing creative work. Training students for the 21st Century, this unique interdisciplinary musical and technical program prepares undergraduates for careers involving electronic composition and performance, sound design, film and video post-production, website and multimedia design, audio recording and production, music software development, and audio electronics, as well as yet unforeseen pathways. Students emerge with a full complement of technical, musical and creative skills.
CalArts’ Music Technology curriculum and training is unique in the academic world, engaging students in custom software design, circuit design for human-computer interfacing, the use of robotic mechanical systems, and topics in artificial intelligence in musical and artistic practice. The program is designed for composers who want to push the limits of soundscape construction, performers who want to use laptops in new ways on stage, DJs who want to push the envelope of dance music, sound engineers who want to take more control in the studio, and multimedia artists who want to extend the limits of digital arts to generate new musical forms and environments.
