LEP was also interviewed as a music expert for a documentary feature on Louis and Bebe Barron's soundtrack for "Forbidden Planet". This should be released with a new DVD in the future...

4/28 "20 Mule Team and the Borax Trail" a three act dramatic / musical performance created by Lorin Edwin Parker, featuring his work and those of Los Angeles / Mojave artists: Douglas Wadle, Jacob Feinberg, Laurie O'Brien, Ashley Walters, Sarah Seelig, Cat Lamb, Sean Boyle. 8pm CalArts - SuperShop.

4/4 - 4/11 M&DE at Dartington Music and Dance Collaborative Exchange. Devon, England. Parker will be in residence at Dartington College of the arts to collaborate with other artists from around the world on new works for music and dance with a contemporary emphasis. 4/2 "You, Too, Can Play Difficult Music" part of the ongoing "Everybody Loves Difficult Music Series" at Machine Project. Los Angeles.  Lorin's piece features tactile interaction with music and sculpture showing the simple relationships between structure, sound and energy. A paper concerning the nature of energy in art and sound, as well as a discussion of this topic and its relation to virtuosity and difficulty will be discussed. for more info, click here.

3/20 LA Philharmonic Presents, CalArts New Century Players: Riley, "In C" and Minimalist Jukebox. Lorin will play contrabass in "In C". Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles - 8pm.

3/13 Sarah Howe's Graduation Recital. Lorin will be improvising on electronics with Sarah and other musicians. ROD. CalArts - 8pm

2/15 David Leikam's "Farewell for the Second Time Around & Hoping to See You Again In Life"-- Lorin will be playing electronics and theremin. Pe-eL will also be performing. ROD - CalArts - 8pm.

UFO Theremin Installation!
    Super-Artist Jay Stuckey's master plan to rule the world. Jay and Lorin collaborated to create the installation shown in the photo on the main page. Each UFO is a theremin with a unique tone / personality interacting with visitors and each other. Opening TBA.


Work In Progress:

Bluetooth computer controller prototypes. Soon to be integrated into Clay Chaplin's "Stupid Thing" controller and MAX/MSP patches.

New electro-magnetic ffurniture design. Relax, enjoy a cup of coffee - sit back and know where the EM fields are!

All steam powered synthesizer.  Yes, this is a complicated design. Works rather well, but I am continually exploring new avenues.

Currently looking for steady employment.
