The School of Music encourages its students and faculty to engage in educational and creative activities around the world.
The School of Music maintains several exchange programs and affiliations with arts and educational institutions in the United States and abroad-including academic exchange programs with the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD), located in Glasgow, and Dartington College of the Arts, located in Totnes, England. A new program was launched in the summer of 2007 with the Dartington International Summer School and a new exchange is being explored with IRCAM (Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique) in France, as well as activities in other countries. In recent years, School of Music students and faculty have taken part in various collaborations with instutitions such as the University of York, the Music and Dance Exchange at Dartington, and Trinity College of Music (all in England); Villa Aurora Foundation for European-American Relations (Berlin and Los Angeles); the Cultural Services of the French Embassy (New York); and the Center for Advanced Musical Studies at Chosen Vale (New Hampshire).
